Do We Need Funky Baby Clothes?

As the Whitney Houston song says 'I believe that children are our future.' And they are, no matter how clever we think we are the next generation will always be smarter and hopefully they will learn from all the mistakes that we have made and make the world a better, kinder, nicer place for us all to live in. With that being said there is no reason that we can't have fun with our children when they are young, before they become cleverer than us and start beating us at every sporting event or video game that we play.

As a middle-aged young male I find it slightly distressing when I pop round my friends house and all of their children are wearing more trendy clothes than myself. But that seems to be the way of the moment, everyone wants to dress their child up in funky baby clothes and make them look like the latest contestants on x-factor which can be quite distressing and quite expensive to do.

Firstly, children grow very quickly so the chances are that they won't fit in these funky baby clothes for very long. It can be extremely expensive to keep changing the clothing of your baby ever few months and even more expensive if you keep replacing their wardrobe with the latest batch of funky baby clothes.

Another issue you have to consider is whether it is fair to dress your child up in all of these funky baby clothes. If you decide to dress yourself up in these clothes then that is far enough, but at the same time you wouldn't want someone taking control of your dress sense, but at the same time we assume that we can dress up our children in all these wacky, funky baby clothes and in one sense we can, obviously they don't have the knowledge or skill to dress themselves. On the other hand though, that doesn't give us the right to dress them up like idiots.

When it comes to looking after children then it is important that we keep a sense of realism on what we decide to dress them in, something that is warm and comfortable rather than something that is setting the latest trends. However, with that being said it doesn't mean that we can't dress them in something every now and then to take some embarrassing photos to bring out for their eighteenth birthday.
